Privacy Policy

IKKYU Corrective Massage Therapy respects your privacy and handles personal and health information with care.

Who this policy applies to

This policy explains how IKKYU Corrective Massage Therapy collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you use this website, contact the clinic, make a booking or receive a service. Health information is sensitive information and receives additional protection under Australian privacy law.

Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with IKKYU, information may include your name, contact details, appointment details, payment or health-fund claim information, consultation responses, relevant health history, treatment notes and communications with the clinic. The website may also receive limited technical information such as device, browser, referral and page-usage data through hosting, security and analytics services.

How information is collected

Information may be collected directly from you when you call, book, complete a consultation form, attend an appointment or otherwise communicate with IKKYU. With your consent, or where permitted or required by law, relevant information may also be received from a representative, another health practitioner, a private health insurer or a service provider involved in your booking or claim.

Why information is used

IKKYU may use information to manage bookings, assess whether treatment is appropriate, provide and document services, process payments and eligible health-fund claims, communicate with you, maintain safety and business records, improve services, secure the website, and meet legal or professional obligations. Information is not used for an unrelated purpose unless you consent or the use is otherwise permitted or required by law.

Booking and third-party services

Online booking is provided through Calendly. Directions, analytics, security, hosting, payment or health-fund functions may involve other service providers. When you follow an external link or submit information to another provider, that provider’s privacy terms also apply. Some providers may process or store information outside Australia. IKKYU seeks to use reputable providers and limits information shared to what is reasonably required for the relevant function.

Disclosure

Personal or health information may be disclosed with your consent, to service providers supporting the purposes above, or where permitted or required by law. IKKYU does not sell personal or health information.

Storage and security

Reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards are used to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access is limited to people who require it for legitimate clinic or service-support purposes. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Access and correction

You may request access to personal information held about you or ask for inaccurate information to be corrected. Some lawful exceptions may apply. IKKYU may need to verify your identity before responding.

Anonymous or pseudonymous contact

You may make a general enquiry without providing detailed health information. It may not be practical to book, provide treatment, process a claim or maintain appropriate clinical records without sufficient identifying and health information.

Questions and complaints

Contact IKKYU at info@ikkyu.com.au, on 0410 062 837, or by post at Suite 10, 6–8 Pacific Highway, St Leonards NSW 2065. Please describe your concern without sending unnecessary sensitive information through an unsecured channel. IKKYU will consider privacy questions and complaints and respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
